Kamienna Góra is a very nice town. There are new projects like Arado Undergrounds, Park Hill and the park nearby the town centre which are glaring contrast to the tenements looking as if the war ended last week. And to tell you the truth, I love the contrast. It is just a few steps to travel in time.
It is easy to find the undergrounds called „Hitler’s Lost Laboratory”. Entering the town from any direction there are signposts leading to the place. The object welcomes its visitors with concrete buildings stylised a bunker. Having bought a ticket called a pass you enter inside the hill. Under the surface you walk 800 metres and you can take part in a role-play. While walking you see prisoners mannequines dressed in striped uniforms and „working” on building the undergrounds. On the walls there are stylised post-German writings and along the walls there are trunks with armour exposition.
The place is available to visit since 5th May 2012 (here you can find an article in Polish on the opening of the place).
Arado undergrounds open everyday 10:00 – 5:00 pm, at the weekends – 6:00 pm
Tickets prices: 15 zł (full-priced) and 10 zł (concessionary)
Free car park opposite Arado.
